Coos Canyon Campground & Cabins

Beautiful and serene location. Cabins are a great way to go into the wilderness with minimal discomforts. Everyone at the campground was friendly. Tommy was helpful and kind.

Being a local-ish born and raised nearby I’ve always driven by this campground but never had the opportunity to stay. We stayed this past long holiday weekend to break-in our “new to us” travel trailer in the lower park area. Hard to see the entrance (at night) if you’re arriving in the dark. The staff was especially helpful with everything we needed. Bob took time to helped me get unhitched and was super friendly! Bathroom/showerhouse is in great shape and very clean. We had a disappointing visit. Our tent site was basically located in a large depression. While we were away from the site a 4-5 hour downpour flooded the camp causing us to end our vacation early. As the proverb goes; Man plans; God laughs.

It's mainly camping But the rooms are good if you get a cabin. It is a beautiful place to escape. Most of the time all you hear is the sound of the river at the cabins you'll hear the sound of the waterfall. You might also hear the occasional four-wheeler. You will find gold this is a great place to prospect as long as you know where you're looking in the river be sure to check the inside bends of the river, in front of and behind boulders on the inside bends of the river as well as potholes.
