Cal Expo RV Park

Very affordable and conveniently located. Provides basic RV services with few amenities. (But you don't come to Sacramento for RV amenities.) Sites are either paved or gravel, all are reasonably level. The RV Park has on-site security which patrols on a regular basis 24/7. Still a high value RV park in May 2026. Has a small dog park, but is adjacent to the American River for pleasant dog walk. (And walks without a dog.)

Great location! Close to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment, yet doesn't feel 'city'. This RV Park is located at the back of the fairgrounds and borders the American River Parkway. There's even an entrance to the trail system right next to the RV Park. Bring your bike and enjoy the fantastic bike trails along the river. The park is dog friendly with an off leash dog area. The only downside is the over 100 degree heat in the summertime and the total lack of shade, so be prepared to run your AC 24/7. But that's typical of Sacramento. If you have no other place to stay, and you have to be in Sacramento, absolutely demand to pick your own spot. I asked for a spot away from other motorhomes . the person who checked us in mocked me for asking as if they were completely sold out... ( there must've been 60 available spaces). She basically said you get what I give you and she put me in the middle of the lot with people surrounding me. Just a total disregard for Customer Service in this ugly gray parking lot.
