The dunes are so much bigger than I thought they would be. Taller and exactly like something you would see in a great desert. Just not going on for miles and miles. It was interesting. There was a small park for camping which was shaded and nice. This area does not have may trees but the camp site did. We made a fire at night and had fun.
The actual park with the sand dunes, visitor center and lake is 4 stars, but this review is for Eagle Cove campground. We had been there once before and enjoyed the campground. Even though there wasn’t lush grass, which you wouldn’t expect in a desert campground, it still had some green spaces around each camp spot which led to a very natural and peaceful vibe. We were sorely disappointed this past weekend, it felt like we landed on the moon, dry and barren. It looked completely different, and then I realized that they had put rock in the entire campground, the only green space was around the …
Great fun for family. You can rent sandboards at the Visitor Center there, which is great to do.
Such a fun place to visit. We visited Bruneau during the day and went for a hike and played on the sand dunes. Looking forward to going back and viewing the stars and camping over night possibly. This is a must do if visiting Idaho!
