Aquia Pines Camp Resort

The gentleman that runs this place is very helpful and friendly. Being upset with someone that asks you to follow the rules that are posted doesn't make them grumpy. The campground itself is pretty nice, the location unfortunately has been taken over with highways. It's one of the noisier campground we've stayed at. Wife said the restrooms weren't the cleanest when she used them. It is a very convenient spot to stay to be able to ride the train to visit DC. The price of the stay is probably commensurate with what's available around the DC area. It's too high anywhere else. I won't be returning…

Loved this place. Clean and friendy (be sure to greet Fritz, the resident Weimeraner.) I was hammock camping. Getting my car to the hammock spot was a little tricky, but once I was there, I was really happy with the beauty and quiet of the campground.||Bathroom was clean. Shower was warm. That's all I could ask for!

Positives: -Quick response from management for a long term stay spot. -Easy access to highway and my job. -propane on sight was a big plus Cons: -roads need some tending but the biggest problem is after a huge snow storm roads were never plowed. Then the snow was packed down from being driven on(with 4x4’s because no other vehicle could make it through that camp ground.)I don’t understand why management would not have the roads plowed, because as you mention in your negative comments this campground has been here for 50 years. Would never stay at a campground that charges $45 a night it completely defeats the purpose of having a camper

If you can help it, turn around and RUN!!!! KOA is 30mins away if you can wait….otherwise expect to be charged relatively high prices ($100 propane + tank dump/fill), service with no sense of urgency (30mins to come out to unlock water after pmt), and the numerous aforementioned rude reactions (feels like you’re bothering them for being a customer)….oh and watch out for the huge canine that charges at you upon entry, yikes! (Sweet pup though)….this place is not a business, it’s a residence that has extra land and they decided to makes some dough off it…prob knowing they got the market cornere…
