Anvil Campground

Great campground you are close to train tracks but didn't bother us.

I just can't say enough about this small campground. They are simply amazing, wonderful people. Beautiful campsite, the log cabins are great. The value is wonderful can't beat it anywhere. It's always very clean. There really isn't much noise. Most camp sites are usually silent. Service is amazing. They always have something going on especially for the kids. Ample room for everyone. They have an outdoor pool heated all year and a little playground for the kids as well as a small recreational room for kids and adults. Their location is ideal for Downtown Williamsburg as well as lots of shopping…

We had a nice stay at Anvil Campground. We love the history of the place. It is so convenient to get into Williamsburg. There is a bus stop on route 7 right out front of the campground that takes you directly into downtown Williamsburg. It takes about 20 minutes and was $3. The bus drops you at the transit center which is only 2 blocks away to the main streets of Colonial Williamsburg. The campground felt safe and was clean. There is a train track behind the campground so you do hear the train go by during the day and night but it wasn’t too bad. Everyone was very nice and welcoming.

My husband, daughter, dog, & I loved our time camping in our van at Anvil! Ray was so kind & helpful, working & cleaning the entire time with a smile on his face. The free coffee/doughnuts, game room, & heated pool were all awesome too! And the bathrooms are super clean. The camp store also had so many useful items in case you forgot something. We will definitely be back!

We had a very nice week camping with 4 grandkids the staff are always pleasant and any issues are immediately addressed they go out of their way to make their campgrounds family friendly. April 2026 will 14 yrs we've been going to Anvil restrooms are always clean and well stocked they have a heated pool and a nice size playground where kids can play make camping friends in a safe area they also have a game room which is geared towards older kids but my 2 yr old grandson had plenty of fun playing a video game even though he didn't understand.
