If you are visiting White Sands NP with kids, it is easy to think of your campground as just a place to sleep, but Alamogordo / White Sands KOA Journey ended up making the entire experience easier and more enjoyable for our family. We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of January, and from the moment we arrived, everything felt simple and well run. Check-in was quick, staff were genuinely kind, and settling into our pull-through full-hookup site was easy after a travel day. Arrival and departure were both simple and low stress. We had the best stay at this KOA! I 100% recommend!! The staff is so nice and welcoming. They go out of their way to take care of families. Certain evenings include family activities and free popcorn. We had the most beautiful site for our stay. If you’re wondering if you should choose this place for your stay… DO IT!!! We will be back!!
We stayed 2 nights to use as a Basecamp for White Sands National Park and all things Alamogordo. The sites have picnic tables and some shade; they were level with room for both our 25' rig and towed vehicle. The campground lends sleds for the dunes. The staff recommended the restaurant right around the corner, which was delicious. The campground is great for being in the city.
Reted a RV site for the Bataan march that happened at the white sands missile range and it was great. Space 40 has a personal dog area,a swing,bbq, and fire pit.
